Hi, I'm Laura. I'm a native English speaker from the UK and I've made Valencia my home. For almost 10 years, my favourite thing has been helping people feel truly comfortable speaking English.

A little about me

Why I teach

I love the moment a student stops worrying about mistakes and just starts talking. That's the point where real progress happens — and it's what every lesson is quietly building towards.

What I believe

Confidence matters more than perfection. Exams are important — and I prepare students for Cambridge B1, B2 and C1 — but the real goal is walking into a meeting, classroom or conversation and simply being yourself in English.

How I teach

Every lesson is built around you: your goals, your interests, your pace and the time you actually have. Some weeks we dig into grammar; other weeks we talk about your work, your travels or your favourite series and fix things naturally as we go.

Where I teach

I live in Valencia, Spain, where I teach in person, and I also work with students online from all over the world. Wherever we meet, you'll get patience, honesty, encouragement and lessons you actually look forward to.

  1. 2016

    My first classroom

    I taught English in an academy in Argentina and discovered how rewarding it is to help students gain the confidence to communicate in another language. That's where my teaching journey began.

  2. 2017

    A new chapter

    After graduating from Newcastle university with a First Class Honours in Hispanic Studies, I moved to Valencia, Spain — and I've called it home ever since.

  3. January 2018

    Teaching full-time

    I started teaching again, both online and in the classroom. Over the years I specialised in Cambridge exam preparation and got my TEFL qualification. The lessons were rooted in practical, real-world English, and I taught all ages, from 3 to adults, through fun, interactive lessons like cooking, science, drama, art and games. 

  4. 2021

    Growing beyond the classroom

    I was promoted to Academy Coordinator and, alongside teaching, I recruited, trained and supported teachers, organised programmes and coordinated summer camps, planned timetables and helped launch new online learning initiatives for companies like Alehop and Adecco. It taught me how to create great learning experiences, not just teach great lessons, as well as valuable leadership skills.

    Broadening my experience

    Business English, Cambridge intensives, online lessons and English summer camps — learners of every age and background. Adapting to each individual has become one of my greatest strengths.

  6. Today

    Skylimit English

    After ten years of teaching and several years of preparing, I launched Skylimit English to offer lessons that are personal, practical and built around your goals, and to dedicate my time to everything I love about teaching. Learning English should build confidence, feel enjoyable and fit around real life.
